У меня установлен gobject-introspection 1.34.2-3. Как видно здесь:

gobject-introspection-1: /usr/share/gobject-introspection-1.0

Вы, вероятно, пропустили пакет разработки. Имя пакета зависит от дистрибутива, но оно содержит /usr/lib/pkgconfig/gobject-introspection-1.0.pc (или же /usr/lib64/pkgconfig/gobject-introspection-1.0.pc для некоторых 64-битных дистрибутивов):
