Поле имени исчезает, когда текстовое поле для редактирования видно?

Текст в ячейке пуст, который не может быть преобразован в int поэтому поставьте галочку, если текст не пустой, чем конвертируйте его в int

if(!string.IsNullOrEmpty(e.Row.Cells[6].Text))

Если вы не хотите, чтобы столбец редактировался, установите свойство ReadOnly="true"

ReadOnly="true"

Например, если вы хотите установить этот столб ReadOnly="true"
