Но это решение может создавать ярлыки только с английскими буквами. Например, когда я использую русскую раскладку клавиатуры, этот код будет отображать ту же последовательность, но с английским символом, размещенным на той же клавише клавиатуры.

Что может оказаться очень полезным, так это функция QKeySequance(). ToString().

Ниже приведена часть кода, который я использую для захвата пользовательских ярлыков. С некоторыми изменениями он может делать все, что вам нужно в вашем проекте. Надеюсь, это поможет (извините за испорченную идентификацию):
