Atlassian Confluence is an enterprise-class collaboration and wiki system.

Atlassian Confluence is used for Collaboration, Knowledge management and base, Technical writing and as Social intranet or Document management.

It is used by many commercial and non-profit organizations, including several Fortune 500 companies as well as high-profile open source projects.

Confluence features several enhancements over traditional wikis:

Content is organized in so called wiki spaces, which can be thought of as sub-wikis.
Content is organized hierachically.

Atlassian offers free licenses to open source projects, as well as "$10 Starter Licenses" for 10-user teams where the license fee goes to Room To Read.

Confluence is often integrated with Atlassian's Project tracking/service desk application - JIRA, Source Code Management Bitbucket and Buildserver Bamboo. All Products are extensible and a wide range of plugins are offered to extend them and integrate it with a multitude of other products.
